How do I get a Deerfield Beach resident beach parking permit?

Short answer

Deerfield Beach sells its Residential Beach Parking Permit only to Deerfield Beach residents, through the city's online Digital Parking Permit portal, for $100 per permit as of 2026. You upload a valid driver's license, current vehicle registration and a current utility or tax bill in your own name, and your license plate serves as the permit.

Who qualifies and what documents do you need?

The city's permit portal describes the Residential Beach Parking Permit as "for Deerfield Beach residents only." Every supporting document must be in the applicant's name, and the city does not approve co-ownership of a permit.

  • A current, valid driver's license
  • Current vehicle registration
  • A current utility bill (light, water or cable) or a current tax bill[1]

How does the digital permit work?

Since November 1, 2025, applications, payments, renewals and vehicle changes are handled in the Digital Parking Permit portal: create an account with "Sign Up," choose the permit type and upload your documents. The city no longer issues physical stickers, because your license plate is the permit, and approval is confirmed by email.

Starting January 1, 2026, permits are valid for one year from the activation date. If you change vehicles, log in, update the vehicle, upload the new registration and wait for approval. Applicants with unpaid city parking citations cannot buy a permit, and citations issued before a permit is activated remain the applicant's responsibility.

The city also offers a separate Pioneer Park Boat Ramp Parking Permit, which requires a driver's license and vehicle registration. Questions go to the Parking Division at 954-480-4499, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.[1]

How does this compare with nearby beach cities?

Deerfield Beach is one of the Broward County municipalities listed by the county Supervisor of Elections, and beach parking programs are set city by city. In neighboring Pompano Beach, the parking FAQ says resident permits are currently suspended, and residents instead use a 20% discounted rate through the PayByPhone app.

In Palm Beach County, Delray Beach sells an annual beach parking permit for $90 plus tax ($96.30) as of 2026. It covers the Sandoway Park, Anchor Park, Ingraham Park, Orange Grove and Atlantic Dunes North and South lots, but not Ocean Boulevard/SR A1A or the Gleason Street lot.[4][2][3]
